Bruins Suffer 7-3 Setback
|
The Delaware 1787 BC picked up a win at Carrier Field, knocking off the Bellevue Bruins, 7-3. Starting pitcher Masami Kogawa was an essential part of his team's success. The winning pitcher was Kogawa, now 3-1. He tossed 8.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 8. Delaware improves to 9-8 as they look to defend their championship.
The 1787 BC got a big at-bat from Alejandro Sánchez. For the game, Sánchez went 1-5 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 3rd double of the season gave Delaware a 2-0 lead.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Delaware manager Taylor Whitney.
