Guzzlers Get 2-1 Win Versus Grand Forks
Both teams had their chances, but the Galesburg Guzzlers eventually prevailed at The Cocoon.

Galesburg used a superb performance from starting pitcher Tod Whipple to down the Grand Forks Caterpillars, 2-1. Geoff Stackhouse, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 7th save.

A key at-bat in the game came in the top of the fifth inning when the Guzzlers sent teenager Shahid Afridi to the plate against Caterpillars hurler Awad Mahmudnizhad. With runners on 1st and 2nd and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a single off a 2-1 fastball to score 1.

"This was a good win," said Whipple.

Galesburg has a mark of 7-10 after the win.
