The Yakima Hops relied on the hitting of catcher Chad Shafer to stop the Little Caesars Hot N Readys, 7-4. For the game, Shafer went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Reynaldo Maestas got the save, his 10th in 11 chances. Yakima has now won 4 straight.

Early in the game, Shafer had a 2-run single for Yakima. It was his 50th hit of the season and put the Hops on top, 3-1.

"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play ever better," said Yakima manager Jamie Randall.
