Yakima got an elite performance from starting pitcher Roberto Silva in taking a 2-1 decision over the Asheville Highlanders. The save went to Reynaldo Maestas, his 8th this season. The Hops saw their win-loss record go to 50-48. At the same time, the Highlanders fall to 39-59.

Also making an impact was designated hitter Joaquín Reyes, who drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the third for Yakima. For the game, Reyes was 1-4 with a double.

"Runs were at a premium," said Yakima manager Jamie Randall.
