With first baseman Bob Maher leading the charge, the Yakima Hops defeated the Minnesota Loons, 7-6, at Hops Park. Maher went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Yakima reliever John Sirica was credited with the win, to go to 4-1. Juan Deliz took the loss for Minnesota. The 6th-place Hops raised their record to 49-47.

Chad Shafer was the walk-off hero for Yakima. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, the Yakima pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"We'll take this win and move on," said Shafer.
