The Hops faced a stiff challenge from Minnesota pitcher Armando Marrero, but persevered to claim a win at Hops Park. The final score was 5-4. Marrero went 6 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Yakima reliever Reynaldo Maestas picked up the win to move to 3-1. Juan Deliz suffered the loss. The Hops improved to 48-47.

The Hops were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when third baseman Lenny Roper turned a first pitch changeup from Juan Deliz into a 2-run double. The walk-off double sent a roar through the crowd and gave Yakima a thrilling 5-4 win.

"This place was electric at the end," Roper said.
