Hops Rally For Late Win Over Screaming Eagles

Fans who came to Hops Park watched the Yakima Hops and the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles fight to the finish.
The Yakima Hops downed the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 7-3, at Hops Park. The Hops were led by Yehonatan Chazan, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The 6th-place Hops lifted their record to 47-45.
César Nieves provided some late-game heroics for Yakima. In the bottom of the eighth inning, he hit a 2-run double. It came on a first pitch fastball from Luis Ochoa and propelled Yakima to a 5-3 lead.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Yakima manager Jamie Randall.
