Highlanders Sneak Past Hot N Readys, 6-5

Marcos Calderón left his imprint on the 6-5 Asheville win against the Little Caesars Hot N Readys. Calderón was 4 for 4 with 4 singles and a walk. Asheville reliever Bobby Irvine picked up the win, upping his record to 5-6. Christian Mustard took the loss. The Hot N Readys have now dropped 5 straight.
Edward Woodstock found himself in a pressure situation in the top of the ninth. Facing Little Caesars hurler Christian Mustard, the 21-year-old center fielder hit a sacrifice fly. His 22nd RBI of the season put the Highlanders on top, 6-5.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Little Caesars manager José Vázquez. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
