Win Streak Now at 6 for Loons
|
The Minnesota Loons picked up a win at Mercer Island Grounds, knocking off the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 8-3. Starting pitcher Jesús Hernández played a key role in the triumph. With the win, Minnesota has a record of 42-41. Mercer Island falls to 46-37.
Pierre Bernard's at-bat in the top of the third was significant, coming with the bases loaded and the game tied, 0-0. The Minnesota center fielder hit a 2-run double off Fernando Reyna to put the Loons up.
"The vibe's good," said Minnesota manager Sandy Hampton. "We've got to keep it going."
