Both teams had their chances, but the Salem Misfits eventually prevailed at Asheville Park.

The Salem Misfits did just enough to secure a 10-5 victory over the Asheville Highlanders at Asheville Park. Nobody did more than shortstop Chris Thurman, who captured player of the game honors. Asheville has now lost 4 in a row.

Salem took control in the top of the seventh. With no one out and the bases loaded, Ignacio Medine hit a 2-run double to make it 7-5, Misfits.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Thurman told the Salem Chronicle.
