The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles turned back the Asheville Highlanders, 18-3, at Asheville Park. Leonardo Ramírez was named player of the game for his fine performance. He went 3-5 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Tomiji Saikawa picked up the win, improving his season record to 7-7. He struck out 2 in 8 innings. With the win over Asheville, the Screaming Eagles improved to 43-34.

Mercer Island took the lead in the top of the seventh. With one out and a runner on 1st, Marcos Reyes stroked a 2-run home run to make it 5-3, Screaming Eagles.

"I still think this team has room for improvement," Reyes told the Mercer Island Observer.
