Highlanders Take Tight Tilt
Asheville Highlanders starter Ipe Talboom pitched a strong game against the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles at Asheville Park, leading the Highlanders to a 3-1 win. Justin Reynolds recorded his 3rd save for Asheville. The Highlanders improved to 30-46.

Asheville took the lead in the bottom of the seventh. With two out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Miguel Montoya stroked a 2-run single to make it 3-1, Highlanders.

"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Jared Gilbert.
