Minnesota beat Tacoma, 11-3. The win in part was due to right fielder Michael Malloy, who nabbed player of the game honors. He was 4-4 with a double, 3 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. José Marroquín earned the save for Minnesota, his 1st of the year. The 6th-place Loons improved to 32-32.

Malloy came through with some timely hitting for Minnesota. With the score 5-3 in the top of the fifth and one down, Malloy hit a 0-1 fastball for a 2-run single. It was his 8th hit of the season -- and a big reason the Loons managed to win.

"We did a lot of things right," said Malloy.
