The Yakima Hops eeked out a 6-4 win versus the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles at Mercer Island Grounds. Nobody did more than pitcher Bryan McKinney, who captured player of the game honors. John Sirica recorded his 1st save for Yakima. Their 28-32 record puts the Hops 8th in the Premier AA.

McKinney was in the zone all game. He frustrated Mercer Island hitters while giving the Hops 7 innings of quality work. McKinney threw 95 pitches, allowing 4 hits and getting 8 punchouts.

"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said McKinney.
