The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles defeated the Salem Misfits, 6-3, at Mercer Island Grounds. Mercer Island left fielder Jacob Herman was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 2 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Picking up the save was Riley Herrick, his 8th. The first-place Screaming Eagles have a one-game lead in their division.

Herman contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Mercer Island in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 3-2, Herman took a changeup from Frank Veeck and stroked the home run to right-center. His 5th home run of the season allowed the Screaming Eagles to leap in front, 5-3.

"Winning never gets old," said Herman.
