Victory Over Hops Takes Mercer Island to 26-17
Yakima pitcher Bryan McKinney gave the Screaming Eagles all they could handle, but in the end, Mercer Island left Mercer Island Grounds with a 5-4 win. McKinney allowed 1 earned run on 2 hits over 6 innings. Their 26-17 record puts the Screaming Eagles third in the Premier AA.

In the bottom of the 7th, first baseman Jorge Velázquez gave Mercer Island the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Screaming Eagles had been trailing 2-1, but the two-out single off Yakima pitcher Cristo Perales changed that -- and Mercer Island went on to win.
