Fur Traders Beat Hops, 6-2

The Tacoma Fur Traders turned back the Yakima Hops, 6-2, at Ballpark of Tacoma. Tim Lehman was named player of the game for his fine performance. He went 3 for 4 with 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The Fur Traders saw their win-loss record go to 17-20. At the same time, the Hops fall to 18-19.
Lehman came through with some timely hitting for Tacoma. With the score 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth and one down, Lehman hit a 0-1 cutter for a 2-run single. It was his 33rd hit of the season -- and a big reason the Fur Traders managed to win.
In comments to the Tacoma Herald, Lehman insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
