Mercer Island Screaming Eagles starter Raúl Pérez was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Minnesota Loons, 3-2. Riley Herrick closed the door for Mercer Island, picking up his 4th save of the year. The 'W' lifts Mercer Island's record to 21-13.
Mercer Island grabbed control in the bottom of the seventh. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Jorge Velázquez delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 3-2 in favor of the Screaming Eagles.
In postgame comments to the Mercer Island Observer, Velázquez said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
