Reyna Plays Big Role in Mercer Island Win
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles did just enough to secure a 2-0 victory over the Northville Eclipse at Old-Timers Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Fernando Reyna, who captured player of the game honors. Denis Melis picked up the save, his 6th. Mercer Island is 20-13 and Northville, with the loss, 13-20.

Reyna dominated for Mercer Island, raising his record to 4-2. Northville hitters had few good at-bats against the right-hander, who scattered 3 hits over 8 innings while striking out 2.

"We've got a great group of guys," Reyna said, "and we're having fun right now."
