Loons Get 4-3 Win Versus Salem
|
The Minnesota Loons did just enough to sneak past the Salem Misfits, 4-3, at Ricochets Ballpark. Minnesota pitcher Rust Cohle earned player of the game honors. The last-place Loons are now 12-21, the Misfits 22-11.
In the top of the 4th, the Loons grabbed the lead when Carey Heidemann rapped a two-out single. Minnesota was trailing 3-2, when Heidemann hit a 2-run single off Marv Bradford to put his team in front, 4-3.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Minnesota Loons manager Sandy Hampton. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
