Trujillo Leads Fur Traders to Win
|
The Tacoma Fur Traders stymied the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 5-2, at Mercer Island Grounds. Felipe Trujillo, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for Tacoma. César Rosado, who went 8 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 6 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 3-2. At 15-15, Tacoma is in 6th place in the Premier AA.
Tacoma took the lead in the top of the eighth when Trujillo hit a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run made the score 5-2, Tacoma.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Mercer Island manager Jared Gilbert.
