Patriots Fall Short at Vancouver
|
The Vancouver Grey Wolves downed the Boston Patriots, 10-6, at Dunkin Donuts Park. The Grey Wolves were led by Thomas Campbell, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Alfonso Vera, credited with the save, is now 7 for 9 in save opportunities. Even with the win, the Vancouver Grey Wolves have a dismal 24-70 record.
Vancouver grabbed control in the top of the eighth. With one out and a runner on 1st, Francisco Santos delivered a 2-run home run, to make it 7-5 in favor of the Grey Wolves.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Campbell told a Vancouver Daily reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
