Hops Jolt Screaming Eagles with Late Rally
The Yakima Hops got a strong performance from pitcher Roberto Silva, who stymied the Mercer Island offense en route to a 3-2 win at Hops Park. Yakima reliever John Sirica was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Denis Melis took the loss. Cristo Perales earned the save, his 1st.

Yakima took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning, when Timothy Jones hit a clutch 2-run home run to bring Hops fans to their feet.

"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," said Silva.

The Yakima Hops, now 14-6, have been on fire in the early going.
