Misfits Continue Hot Start to Season with Win
|
The Salem Misfits topped the Asheville Highlanders, 4-3, in USPL Double A action at Asheville Park. The player of the game was Salem pitcher Frank Veeck. Getting the save was Rodrigo Torres, his 1st. The Salem Misfits, now 11-5, have been on a roll in the early going.
In the top of the sixth inning, designated hitter Fernando Sánchez came through big-time for the Misfits. With Salem leading 3-0, he belted a solo home run.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Veeck said after the game.
