Yamamoto Slugs Loons to 8-6 Win
|
A 7-RBI performance from the 23-year old catcher Ieyoshi Yamamoto helped the Minnesota Loons beat the Lannister United Lionhearts, 8-6. Minnesota reliever Oriol Razo picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. José Montalópez shouldered the loss. Domingo Velasco closed the door for Minnesota, picking up his 4th save of the year.
Minnesota grabbed the momentum in the top of the eighth, when Yamamoto, who is rated as the 98th best prospect by BNN, hit a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run put the Loons out in front, 7-5.
"We need to keep playing good baseball," Yamamoto told the Minnesota Daily.
The Lionhearts, at 3-12, have stumbled out of the gate.
