Loons Fall Short, 5-3, at Little Caesars
|
The Little Caesars Hot N Readys racked up a win at The Pizza Oven, bumping off the Minnesota Loons, 5-3. Tristan Young, who started for Little Caesars, pitched effectively for his team. Young, now 1-0, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 2, walking 3, and allowing 2 earned runs. I-tsing Ts'ong got the save, the 2nd for him this season.
Lorenzo Ruíz, not known for his power, had a big at-bat with no one out in the bottom of the sixth. That's when he connected on a changeup from Rust Cohle for a solo home run. His 1st home run of the season put Little Caesars in front, 3-2.
"I found a nice groove out there," said Young.
With the loss, Minnesota sinks to 1-2.
