Big Day by Moore Ignites Fur Traders Win
|
The Tacoma Fur Traders began the 2026 season with a convincing 5-3 win over the Asheville Highlanders at Ballpark of Tacoma. Most impressive was Tacoma designated hitter Andy Moore, who went 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Lonnie Barrett earned the save for Tacoma, his 1st of the year.
Moore came through with some timely hitting for Tacoma. With the score 3-1 in the bottom of the sixth and two down, Moore hit a 1-2 fastball for a 2-run single. It was his 4th hit of the season -- and a big reason the Fur Traders managed to win.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Moore said after the game.
