Great Lakers Top Dogfish Head, 10-7

Pure Michigan third baseman Ron Ward made his presence felt in the 10-7 Great Lakers triumph over the Milton Dogfish Head. Ward went 2 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. The third-place Great Lakers lifted their record to 47-40.
Also having an impact was catcher António Boccanegra, who stroked a 2-run single in the bottom of the fifth for Pure Michigan. For the game, Boccanegra was 1-3 with 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Pure Michigan manager Allen Bartlett.
