The Pure Michigan Great Lakers topped the Gryfindor Braves, 10-5, in USPL Triple A action at Lansing Park. The player of the game was Pure Michigan pitcher José López. The winning pitcher was López, now 2-7. He tossed 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. The Great Lakers bumped their record to 39-35 with this latest triumph.

The Great Lakers got a big at-bat from John Thompson. For the game, Thompson was 2 for 3 with 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 14th hit of the season gave Pure Michigan a 2-1 lead.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," López told the Pure Michigan Daily News.
