Rocks Pin 5-4 Loss on Lynx

Plymouth and Calgary duked it out at Lynx Stadium and the Rocks came out victorious.
The Plymouth Rocks beat the Calgary Lynx, 5-4, at Lynx Stadium. The win was largely due to the efforts of shortstop Andrew Weeks, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Plymouth reliever Rio Bavin got the win, raising his record to 3-0. Héctor Cortéz was tagged with the loss.
The most important at-bat came in the top of the ninth inning. With two out, Héctor Cortéz threw a 2-2 curveball to Weeks, which he hit to right for a run-scoring double. It put Plymouth in front, 5-4.
In comments to the Plymouth Times, Weeks admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
With the victory, the Rocks record now stands at 29-37.
