Patriots Walk Off with 7-6 Win
|
Boston third baseman Miguel Márquez made his presence felt in the 7-6 Patriots triumph over the Richardson City Thundercats. Márquez was 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Boston reliever Kyung-un Yi picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Eduardo Díaz was saddled with the loss. The Patriots own a robust 46-39 mark.
The game ended with a bang. In the bottom of the ninth, with Boston trailing 6-5, Timmy Appeldoorn jumped on a 1-1 fastball from Eduardo Díaz for a 2-run home run, sending the Patriots to a walk-off win.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Boston manager Tyler Carter. "It's usually not just one thing."
