Both teams had their chances, but the Highwood Hawks eventually prevailed at Hawks Field.
The Highwood Hawks picked up a win at Hawks Field, knocking off the York Revolution, 4-3. On the mound for Highwood was right-hander Stanley Eldrige, who played a pivotal role in the win. Eldrige went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 0, and struck out 5. His record improves to 2-0.
Dennis Dudash was a key contributor to the win for the Hawks. In the bottom of the sixth with one out, the light-hitting right fielder stroked a triple to right-center. He went 2-4 with a triple and a double. He drove in 2 runs.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Eldrige said.
Highwood, at 6-1, is off to a blistering start.
