The Idaho Falls Chukars got their 2026 season off and running with a win over the Grand Forks Caterpillars at Idaho Falls Park. The final score was 4-2. Idaho Falls pitcher Shotaro Sugahara was named player of the game. The win was credited to Paco Manuel in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Riemer Kos took the loss.

Shelby Noonan was the walk-off hero for Idaho Falls. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, the Idaho Falls designated hitter hit a dramatic 2-run home run to send the teams home.

Noonan called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
