Grey Wolves Continue Skid, Thanks to Henry, Oaks
|
The Oakland Oaks relied on the hitting of first baseman Todd Henry to stop the Vancouver Grey Wolves, 6-2. For the game, Henry was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Matt Webber picked up the win, improving his season record to 4-6. He struck out 8 in 7 innings. Mark Simmons was credited with the save for Oakland, his 1st of the season.
Henry came through with some timely hitting for Oakland. With the score 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth and two down, Henry hit a 1-1 fastball for a 2-run home run. It was his 21st home run of the season -- and a big reason the Oaks managed to win.
"Been a rough stretch for us," said Vancouver manager David Krause.
Vancouver now has a 5-game losing streak.
