Polar Bears Win in Glorious Fashion
|
Billings overcame a superlative game from Tomás Galván to beat Springfield, 3-2. The Springfield pitcher took player of the game honors in a losing cause. He came in in relief and pitched to 15 batters . After today's action, Billings sits at 52-44, while Springfield falls to 43-53.
Late in the game, left fielder Matt Roloff had a big at-bat for Billings. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring double off Walt Cooley. The play gave the Polar Bears a 3-2 lead.
Roloff said this kind of win gives the team "a buzz."
