The Richland Rails picked up a win at Rails Ballpark, knocking off the Ottawa Nationals, 5-4. Starting pitcher Maxwell Simon played a key role in the triumph. Jim Unknown, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. Richland, at 46-49, occupies 8th place in the Menard's AA.

Late in the game, pinch hitter Kazu Hishida had a big at-bat for Richland. In the bottom of the eighth, he hit a run-scoring single off Gonzalo Ruíz. The play gave the Rails a 5-4 lead.
