The Oakland Oaks downed the Vancouver Grey Wolves, 6-5, at Oakland Coliseum. The Oaks were led by Todd Williams, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-4 with a triple and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. The win was credited to Júlio Maes in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Nelle Liefting took the loss. José Caballero notched his 20th save in 25 chances.
The game turned with no one out in the bottom of the sixth when Williams hit a 2-run triple. It propelled the Oaks into the lead, 5-3.
"We'll savor this win," Williams told the Oakland Gazette, "then get ready for the next game."
The 7th-place Grey Wolves have lost 4 straight games.
