Rails Pull Back to Even with 8-1 Victory
|
The Richland Rails scored a 8-1 win versus the Myrtle Beach Mermen at Rails Ballpark. Richland pitcher Maxwell Simon nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. The Rails now have a record of 45-45 with the win over Myrtle Beach.
Richland designated hitter Orlando Casillas helped the Rails go up, 1-0, in the bottom of the fifth inning. With the game tied, Casillas hit a run-scoring single off Myrtle Beach pitcher Héctor Ocampo.
"We'll keep our chins up and get ready for the next game," said losing manager Junior Benítez.
