Arredondo Hits 2 home runs in Express Win
|
The Wizarding Express defeated the Panama City Piranhas, 9-3. Earning player of the game honors was right fielder Rafael Arredondo, who was 4-4 with 2 home runs and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Todd Hines got the win, improving to 6-7. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 8 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 1. Juan Cantú earned the save for Wizarding, his 1st.
Arredondo had a game-changing home run in the top of the third. On a full count curveball from Luis Flores, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Express a 2-1 lead. It was the 16th home run of the year for Arredondo.
"We did a lot of things right," said Arredondo.
The Express now have a record of 41-38.
