Getting an impressive start from Miguel López, Virginia Beach beat Springfield by the score of 2-1. Virginia Beach reliever Shigeko Sakoda was credited with the win, to go to 1-1. Ken Aldridge took the loss for Springfield. Enrique Castillo locked down his 3rd save.
One important at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the top of the eighth. That's when Juan Perales drew a walk. The Deuces went on to win.
"There was no wiggle room in this one," said Perales.
Virginia Beach currently is in second place in the Menard's AA at 48-39.
