The Billings Polar Bears beat the San Bernardino Grasshoppers, 7-5, at Field of the Grasshoppers. The win was largely due to the efforts of designated hitter Víctor Fortis, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Jim Unknown picked up the save, his 1st. Billings currently is in 4th place in the Menard's AA at 44-39.

The game turned with no one out in the top of the fourth when Fortis, who is tied for 4th in the 3AA in triples with 4, hit a run-scoring double. It propelled the Polar Bears into the lead, 1-0.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Fortis, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
