Thundercats Fall Short at D.C.
|
Despite a great performance by Richardson City left fielder Alan Elder, the D.C. Divided defeated the Thundercats by the score of 7-5 at Washington Stadium. Elder went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Leslie Brooks earned the win for D.C.. He lasted 8 innings, allowing 4 earned runs on 6 hits, while striking out 7. With the win, he raised his record to 2-0. Losses have been rare for the Thundercats, who are now 6-2.
D.C. took a 7-4 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning, when Lúcio López hit a clutch 3-run home run to bring Divided fans to their feet.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," López told the D.C. Herald. "It's as simple as that."
