The Glendale Herons defeated the Ottawa Nationals, 2-0, in M3L Double A action at Nationals Park, with Glendale pitcher Salvador Torres named player of the game. Torres picked up the win for Glendale, going 7.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 6-4. Ralph Horn, credited with the save, is now 21 for 24 in save opportunities.
In the top of the fifth, Glendale right fielder Daniel Maldonado had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and two outs, Maldonado stroked a 2-run single to right. It made the score 2-0, Glendale. For the game, he was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI.
