Atlantic City Sonics starter António Rodríguez was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks, 5-3. Rodríguez went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 10-4. Apollo Cepeda recorded his 17th save for Atlantic City.
Brady Bess was a key contributor to the win for the Sonics. In the top of the sixth with one out, the light-hitting catcher stroked a double to left. He went 2-4 with a double.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Rodríguez.
Atlantic City currently is in 4th place in the Menard's AA at 40-34.
