Patriots Raise Rally Flag, Beat Oakland, 5-3
|
The Boston Patriots eeked out a 5-3 win versus the Oakland Oaks at Dunkin Donuts Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Alberto Reyes, who captured player of the game honors. Boston reliever Pancho Padilla picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Ronald Harmon was saddled with the loss. Picking up the save was Jesús Caldero, his 5th.
Boston took control in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Alberto Enríquez hit a 2-run single to make it 5-3, Patriots.
"This is a very good team," said Reyes. "We have the chance to do something special."
The Oaks, at 36-41, have lost 6 in a row.
