Bruno Helps Atlantic City Outscore San Bernardino
|
The Atlantic City Sonics knocked off the San Bernardino Grasshoppers, 25-10, at Field of the Grasshoppers. Felipe Bruno, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Atlantic City won. The first baseman went 4-5 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 8. The winner was José Cabrera, who threw 109 pitches over 7 innings. The right-hander was charged with 7 runs on 5 hits. The second-place Sonics are now 27-22, the Grasshoppers 19-30.
In the top of the second inning, second baseman Kent Summey came through big-time for the Sonics. With Atlantic City leading 5-2, he belted a grand slam home run.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Bruno told the Atlantic City News.
