Polar Bears Stick Rails with 5-2 Loss
Despite a great performance by Richland left fielder Frank Sharp, the Billings Polar Bears defeated the Rails by the score of 5-2 at Rails Ballpark. Sharp went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. Billings reliever Isei Sugimoto picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Gary Kellenberger was saddled with the loss. The Polar Bears saw their win-loss record go to 24-23. At the same time, the Rails fall to 23-24.

Tied up with the Rails in the top of the fourth, the Polar Bears got a boost from center fielder Homer Spence. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Spence saw a full count fastball from Gary Kellenberger and hit a 2-run double to break the stalemate and put Billings on top, 3-1.

Spence called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
