Grasshoppers Take Down Shooters, 8-2

The San Bernardino Grasshoppers beat the Springfield Shooters, 8-2, at Springfield Stadium. San Bernardino designated hitter Jesús Reyes earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 2-4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. San Bernardino reliever Pablo Vargas was the winner. His record is now 2-1. The losing pitcher was Atila Freska. The Grasshoppers sit in last place in the Menard's AA with a record of 18-29.
Reyes had a key at-bat for San Bernardino early in the game. With the bases empty, he hit a solo home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and gave San Bernardino an early 1-0 lead.
"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Reyes told the San Bernardino Daily. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
