Grasshoppers Suffer 8-6 Setback

The Virginia Beach Deuces grabbed a 8-6 win over the San Bernardino Grasshoppers at Field of the Grasshoppers. Virginia Beach left fielder Juan González went 2 for 2 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He scored 2 times to earn player of the game honors. The Deuces raised their record to 25-18.
Also contributing to the win was center fielder Harry Freidricks, who stroked a 2-run double in the top of the second for Virginia Beach. For the game, Freidricks went 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said San Bernardino manager António Macías. "But we decided not to take it."
