Polar Bears Knock Off Glendale at The Igloo

The Polar Bears grabbed a 5-2 win at The Igloo, overcoming a fine effort from Glendale pitcher David Davis. Davis went 8 innings and allowed 5 earned runs. José Maestas picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 7-3. David Davis was tagged with the loss. Jim Unknown nailed down his 1st save.
The Polar Bears beat the Herons in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the triple Víctor Fortis produced in the bottom of the fourth. Batting against Glendale pitcher David Davis, he gave his team a 3-2 lead when he hit a run-scoring triple.
"I thought we played a nice game," Fortis told the Billings Chronicle. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
Today's win puts Billings at 21-20, while Glendale falls to 18-23.
